If you have neglected your face or given up on a complicated skin care regime because it was time-consuming or taking too long to deliver any results, I’ve got an idea that could kickstart your resolve to look after your face…
Inexpensive trial skin care kits are a great way to boost your morale and encourage you to re-start a routine. If you look in the right places, you can find even very high-end skin care products available for next to nothing. These types of bargain buys are often sold in two-week sets but, if you are savvy, you may be able to stretch them out a little longer. For example, ‘apply liberally’ doesn’t mean you have to go over the top.
I’ve recently come across trial kits for Gatineau and Clinique and promoted them to my followers, but there are others out there. Go for sets that contain three to five steps – any more and, especially if you are not totally committed, you probably won’t stick to a regime. I’ve read stories about people trying 14-step programmes. What a faff!
Where To Find Cheap Skin Care Sets
I would strongly advise you not to buy skin care products from individual sellers or those advertised as ‘opened but not used’. My website does not sell anything. It merely showcases products I have come across online and either personally tested or received recommendations for. There are lots of unscrupulous people selling skin care and cosmetic goods from home – and some have imported them with no idea – or care – of what they contain nor the conditions they have been manufactured in. Buying from a respected platform or retailer will offer you protection and good comeback should something not be quite right.
It is worth remembering that Trading Standards have prosecuted some home-based businesses for selling fake and potentially dangerous make-up and topical skin products.
So, stick with well-known platforms and brands. I publish any deals I come across on my Facebook page. Brand websites, including Avon, are other good sources. Once we are out of lockdown, it may be worth tapping up your Avon rep for current deals or visiting a department store. Cosmetic counters often have ‘free gift’ offers – if you purchase a certain product, which you may be buying regularly online, or if you spend a minimum amount. I’ve bagged some fantastic deals this way.
Here are some current trial skin care kits, which may be just what you need to get back into the swing of looking after your biggest asset!
