I tested three products from rès növa’s collection - Gentle Cleansing Milk, Hydrating Toner and Vitamin C Serum.
Gentle Cleansing Milk
This product is formulated to deliver an effective but gentle cleanse. It boasts argan oil, shea butter, jojoba oil, and avocado oil. According to rès növa, it is ‘silky-soft’ and nourishes the skin while removing every trace of makeup. It is suitable for mature skin as well as those with dry or normal skin.
I’ve got mature skin and used this product in place of a cleansing balm and gel cleanser. In my teens, milk cleansers were all the rage. They were the type you applied and removed with cotton wool, and they weren’t very good. This is something altogether different. I would describe it as having a silk-like balmy feel - and you wash it off with water. Light and luxurious, it glided over my skin. I got the drift of ‘hygge’ - massaging this product into my face was very relaxing.
I found this cleanser very effective at removing makeup. But that’s not all - it’s one of those skincare products that leaves your skin feeling ultra-smooth and hydrated. My skin felt polished and soft. The cleanser also nourishes the skin, so continued use will support good skin health. As I found with all three products I tried from this range, it’s glow-boosting too. And, because it doesn’t contain added scents, you get a muted but very pleasant waft of what I would liken to a combination of citrus and green leaves.
This, to me, is the perfect alternative to a balm. It’s easier and more convenient to use, and dispenses with the need for a double cleanse - because it is so thorough at removing makeup and impurities. If you currently use a balm followed by a foam or gel wash, this product will deliver great results and save you money. You don’t need very much of cleanser, so it will last too.

Hydrating Toner
A toner is an essential part of a skincare routine. It not only ‘tones’ the skin, it prepares it for the next step in a regimen. This toner, formulated with hyaluronic acid and rose water, left my skin literally glowing. I note that rès növa describes it as refreshing and says it boosts radiance. That’s true!
As well as supporting the skin’s pH balance, this product definitely hydrates. You can apply the product with your fingertips, pressing it into the skin. Because I’m ‘old school’, I’m afraid I applied mine with a cotton pad. That’s how I knew the cleanser had removed every trace of my makeup.
I really like the smell of this product. It’s natural, botanical and refreshing. I would add, it’s not overpowering either. For me, it lifted the look of my skin. After using the first product, I had a little bit of colour in my cheeks and now I was approaching the glass skin glow.

Vitamin C Serum
Looking for a potent serum that truly delivers what it promises? The rès növa 2% Vitamin C Serum does it all. It minimises uneven skin tone, including dark spots, and promotes a healthy glow. If you are looking for radiance in a bottle, this is it.
The serum is formulated with plant extracts. It includes hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, powerful antioxidant ferulic acid, rice extract, magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, which is a stabilised form of vitamin C, and ascorbic acid, otherwise known as vitamin C. Unlike many treatment serums, this one has been developed to deliver long-lasting hydration.
It really packs a punch on the skin. I’ve used vitamin C with ferulic acid in the past. The only comparison is the smell, which anyone who has used this combination of ingredients in skincare will know is distinctive.
This brightening product is orange-beige and applies to the skin like a dream. Quickly absorbed, it feels like a serum-cream combo. As well as further promoting the glow I achieved with the previous two products, the serum reduced redness at the side of my nose. With continued use, rès növa says this product can reduce the signs of ageing. It is formulated to firm and smooth the skin as well as protect its natural barrier.
I was drawn to this product because of vitamin C’s ability to even out skin tone. I’m not saying my face looks like the world map, but it is normally quite dull and I do have the odd dark spot. After using this product for less than a week, I can already see an improvement. Of course, the glow is an added bonus.
