Regular readers will already know that I am a huge fan of cleansing balms. As well as ensuring make-up removal is effortless, a good balm will smooth and hydrate the skin. A staple of the ever-popular double cleansing routine, oil-based cleansers have important advantages over gel and cream alternatives. So, it’s not surprising that Revolution has added a collagen cleansing balm to its Pro Miracle range.
Vegan, this is a product that will appeal to a wide customer base - as a make-up remover for younger fans and as an anti-ageing tool for devotees of the Pro Miracle stable of products. And, of course, it will definitely appeal to those who insist on vegan skincare.
Widely considered a good dupe for the collagen cleansing balm that is a top seller for spa brand Elemis, this is a budget product that, as I discovered, delivers so much more than a clean face.
Review Revolution Pro Miracle Collagen Cleansing Balm
I purchased this product for £14 from Amazon. It is also available from multiple other retailers as well as Revolution Beauty’s own website where, at the time of writing, it was priced at £15.
Sold in a generous 100g jar, the balm is supplied with a small muslin cloth. The packaging, I must point out, is superb. As well as boasting a tasteful gold lid, this product arrived boxed.
Onto the collagen cleansing balm… I don’t know about you but I’m tired of having to scrape around pots to dig out rock-hard balm that takes ages to melt in my hands. It drags out the cleansing process. I’m so ‘over’ balms with a medicated scent too. Hence, I was pleasantly surprised to find Revolution’s offering is none of the above!
With a buttery look, this balm initially appears hard. However, it is easy to get out of the pot and melts in an instant. Better still, this product is definitely spa-inspired. It has a subtle fragrance that I would liken to orange blossom.
Once on the skin, it feels like heaven. Soft and smooth, the fingers glide across the skin. After a quick massage, just add water, massage again and rinse. Alternatively, you can remove the balm with the supplied cloth. This product does not foam when mixed with a splash of water.
So… How did it leave my skin feeling? Amazing! Soft, hydrated, plumped and so, so smooth.
I would equate the result of using the balm to a fruit acid exfoliation. Yes, the result was that good.
Ingredients include orange peel oil, sweet almond oil and castor seed oil. Other oils are derived from sunflower seeds and oats. Then there's the waxes. Interestingly, this product also includes seaweed and carrot root extracts. So, for the price, it packs a powerful punch.
Why a collagen cleansing balm?
As well as delivering a protein that supports the skin’s structure, providing a lingering boost of hydration, this collagen cleansing balm is a pleasure to use. From its beautiful scent and ultra-smooth texture to the end result, it performs beyond what you would expect from a budget skincare range.
For those who wear makeup, it could be the game-changer you have been waiting for. As well as making cosmetics removal super-easy, it offers skincare benefits that you can feel and see.
As an anti-ageing product, Revolution’s Pro Miracle Collagen Cleansing Balm is a total no-brainer. It banishes impurities while deeply nourishing the skin and leaving it stunningly soft. It’s worth noting that this balm can be used as an occasional treatment mask and can be left on the skin for up to 20 minutes.
I know a lot of people have already said that it beats the collagen cleansing balm by Elemis hands down but I have to say… I agree! Unlike the more expensive product, you get more for less money and no overpowering scent. The end result is very similar while the experience of using the balm is divine.
If, like me, you value the cleansing process as a cornerstone of anti-ageing skincare, this product is for you. If, like me, you wear a lot of makeup, this cleansing balm is a go-to.
Smoothing, plumping and hydrating, this is a skincare product that I will be buying again.
