Beauty Bay Midnight eyeshadow palette review

Beauty Bay Midnight eyeshadow palette

Midnight is always a magical, enchanting theme and especially so when it comes to makeup. Think of butterflies, Cinderella, a masquerade ball, and glamour. You get to revel in the mystique of all of those, not to mention a night garden and never-ending fairy tales, with the Beauty Bay Midnight eyeshadow palette.

Heavily influenced by the brand’s limited edition Book of Magic palette, this collection of vivid pigments has been curated to cast a beautiful spell over eyeshadow looks.

From subtle, soft mattes to bright and bold shimmers, this palette is a must-have for anyone who likes to wear eye makeup.

I purchased this palette in Beauty Bay’s most recent Birthday Box. It is also available to buy separately.

About the palette

The Beauty Bay Midnight eyeshadow palette is available in three sizes - nine pan, 16 pan and 42 pan. This review focuses on the 16 pan version.

It comprises nine mattes and seven shimmers. The palette includes a good-sized mirror.

Blues, purples and lilacs make up the bulk of the colour story. However, you will also find Tranquil pink and Nex black in the mix.

The shimmers include Gleam lilac, Steel silver/grey and Sky blue. You will also find Bubbles, Potion and more, each bringing something different to a look.

Blue mattes include deep Denim, pale Mist and the medium Cerulean.

Purple and lilac mattes include Lavender and Catch along with deeper shades Voodoo and Iris.

The retail price of this palette is £14.

Beauty Bay Midnight eyeshadow formula

This is the first Beauty Bay eyeshadow palette I’ve reviewed and, I have to say, the quality surpassed all expectations.

As well as being packaged nicely, the eyeshadows have been manufactured to deliver professional results. They are smooth and soft, making them easy to apply and blend.

The pigmentation is on the extreme side - something you don’t often find in own brand makeup products. I would liken the depth of colour to premium makes. Yes, think of Jeffree Star and Natasha Denona.

With little to no fallout and shades that stay true to their pan colours, this palette delivers flawless results. It also represents excellent value for money.

The subtler pigments are ideal for every-day wear while the medium to dark shades are perfect for switching up a look for the night-time.

If you are a fan of purple or blue makeup, the Beauty Bay Midnight eyeshadow palette is a must-buy.

Vegan midnight blue and purple eyeshadow

Beauty Bay’s eyeshadows are vegan and cruelty free.

They are easy to use, feel weightless on the skin and did not cause me any irritation.

I’ve used the pretty pink and lilacs to create a graduated matte base with a dab of shimmer in the centre of the lid. These shades are ideal for autumn and spring.

The blue pigments scream ‘young and fresh’ and are the perfect shades for holidays or the summer. There is a hint of retro there that harks back to the 80s as well as hues associated with nature - think of the sky and the ocean.

I am impressed with the quality of these eyeshadows. The pigments are wearable and long-lasting. The shades definitely bewitched me.

If you have yet to try a Beauty Bay palette, Midnight is a great introduction to the brand.
