Exfoliating Salicylic Acid Soap Gets A Big Thumbs Up

I remember when soap was purportedly ‘bad for your skin’ and being strongly advised by a beautician to rinse my face with water a ridiculous number of times (about twenty!) should I ever dare to wash my face with it.

Not any more! Soaps, and most notably their ingredients, have changed in recent years. They are kinder to the skin and some even deliver highly effective treatments.

The Salicylic Acid Soap is a relative newcomer to my bathroom. It lasts longer than expensive face washes and has plenty of benefits, including anti-ageing ones, that I love.

This is the anti-blemish soap that exfoliates, with a formula proven to soften the skin and leave it silky smooth. One of the key ingredients is kernels from apricots. They form an A-team partnership with the soap and both work in harmony to remove excess oil and impurities which not only clog pores but can cause spots and blackheads.

What Is Salicylic Acid?

Completely organic, this vegetable acid is recognised as an essential medicine by the World Health Organisation. It is a leading ingredient in topical treatments for a wide range of conditions, including acne, psoriasis and even dandruff.

Known for its ability to gently remove dead skin cells, the colourless ‘acid’ is considered both effective and extremely safe.

Other plus points are that it is a natural preservative and an antiseptic.

I love the idea of a Salicylic acid in soap form. It looks very convenient to use and sounds like it leaves very good results. I especially like that it contains natural ingredients using ground apricot kernels, almond and walnut shells so is kinder to the environment. The scrub with sulphur sounds exactly what I would need to control excess oil and tighten enlarged pores.

This looks like exactly what I need! I’ve been using an basic apricot scrub but combined with the salicylic acid make it the ideal product for my troublesome skin!
